We collect service charges from all people we are legally able to. Where people have bought their flats, or own a property through Shared Ownership, they have a legal agreement requiring them to pay. The position with people who have bought houses is unfortunately not as clear cut. Coastline is only able to charge these customers if the legal document for their property includes an obligation to pay towards estate services. Some properties that were originally sold by Kerrier Council did not include this obligation and therefore Coastline cannot pass the costs on to them. However, where Coastline is legally able to claim for such charges we do.
